Man Found Guilty Of Murdering Young British Soldier

A man has been found guilty of murdering a young British soldier after a night out.
Dave Curnow, 20, was attacked in his home town of Redruth in September and later died in hospital.
One of the youngest British soldiers to serve in Afghanistan in 2013, he served in 4 RIFLES and has been described as a brave and competent soldier by his commanding officer.
Conor Hammond, 21, has now been found guilty of the rifleman's murder, with another man, Liam Laing, having previously pleaded guilty to the same charge.
The prosecution alleged during the trial that Mr Curnow was assaulted for no reason, falling to the ground three times as he was punched during a three minute assault by the two men in what Mr Justice Dingemans described as "a feral attack".
CCTV footage showed Hammond and Laing, 21, shaking hands over the soldier's body.
Both men have been sentenced to life in jail. Hammond will serve a minimum of 16 years, while Laing will serve a minimum of 13.5.
