Prince Harry Sends 'Best Wishes' But Can't Help Corrie Search

Prince Harry has sent his best wishes to those trying to find Corrie McKeague but an aide says he is "unable to help" raise awareness in the search for the missing RAF serviceman.

Lisa Jackson, a campaigner in the hunt for the 23-year-old gunner, sent a letter to Kensington Palace asking if the Royal could help raise awareness for Corrie.

She received a reply from an aide to the Prince, who left the Army last year, saying:

"Prince Harry has asked me to thank you for your letter of 10th November in connection with your request to help raise awareness for missing RAF serviceman, Corrie McKeague."
"His Royal Highness is grateful to you for taking the trouble to write to him about this deeply distressing matter, but I regret that he is unable to help with your request and to reply personally."
"Prince Harry receives a large number of letters every week and sadly the sheer volume precludes personal replies."
"I am sorry to have to send you such a disappointing reply. Nevertheless, His Royal Highness has asked me to send you his best wishes."
It is not known if Harry has actually seen the request.

Corrie, a member of RAF Regiment 2 Squadron was reported missing when he failed to turn up at RAF Honington in Suffolk.

Suffolk Police recently opened a pod in the centre of Bury St Edmunds in an effort to see if the public recognised anyone on CCTV footage from the night he disappeared.

The footage shows two people in the area of Bury St Edmunds between 3am and 8am on Saturday 24 September - around the time of the last confirmed sighting of Corrie at 3.25am.

And in November, the police closed one lane of the A14 as part of an expanded search, although they confirmed that 'no new information has been revealed that will assist with the inquiry'.
