Queen's Royal Hussars Pushed To The Limit

For the last fortnight, soldiers in Germany have been tested to their limits on the Sennelager Training Area.

It's the culmination of a two-week, potential non-commissioned officer or PNCO cadre for the Queens Royal Hussars.

The cadre is where soldiers are trained to become leaders and are tested physically and mentally, in the barracks and in a field environment, designed to enable them to demonstrate their leadership ability and military skills.

The cadre is quite different to what they are used to – giving orders instead of just taking them - and also involves delivering a presentation to the commanding officer.

As well as giving presentations, they have taken part in platoon attacks, working together as a team and leading their peers, with feedback given after each section, to push the soldiers to progress and improve.

On completing the cadre they march on to the parade square in front of their fellow soldiers and officers, before being inspected by their commanding officer.

The Queen’s Royal Hussars will form the lead in NATO’s Very High Readiness Joint Task Force (Land) in 2017, as part of 20th Armoured Infantry Brigade.
