Remembering Malta's Contribution In World War Two

Back in 1940, the Mediterranean island of Malta found itself at the centre of a devastating bombing campaign.

For two and a half years the people of the island endured constant attacks from German and Italian forces.

The island, and its artillery, went on to play a big part in the success of Allied forces in the Second World War, with the Maltese people the only entire population to be awarded the George Cross, Britain's highest civilian honour for bravery.

Forces TV's Ali Gibson went to the National War Museum in the country's capital Valetta to find out more.
