Shrink-Wrapped Sub: HMS Agamemnon Moved Through Town

Large sections of Astute-class submarine HMS Agamemnon have been moved through the streets of Barrow.
Two shrink-wrapped superstructure sections were transported from Barrow Docks to the BAE Systems shipyard, in the latest of a series of shipyard movements which are taking place as part of the Astute-class construction programme - just click below to take a look.
A number of temporary road closures were in place, with street furniture temporarily removed to accommodate the wide loads of the aft end construction and bridge fin.
The Royal Navy will ultimately have seven of the Astute-class boats, with three currently in service (Astute, Ambush and Artful).
The four others, Audacious, Anson, Agamemnon and Ajax, are in various stages of construction.
They're the world's most advanced hunter-killer submarines, boasting £1bn of British-built technology, ship-building and know-how.
That didn't stop one of them hitting the headlines for the wrong reasons recently, however, when HMS Ambush was involved in an embarrassing collision in Gibraltar.
