Spectacular Inter-Services Win For Navy After Twickenham Draw

The Royal Navy have pulled off a sensational victory in the 2016 Inter-Services Championship after holding the Army to a draw at Twickenham.
The Senior Service knew a draw would be enough at the start of the day, having already emerged victorious over the RAF, who'd beaten the Army in the other inter-services fixture.
And they made a great start to proceedings, scoring a converted try early on - although the Army soon cancelled it out with one of their own.
The Army soon started to wrestle control though, Bdr Owain Davies going over the line to make it 12-7 after Cpl Dave Fairbrother had been sinbinned for the Navy.
Two converted tries later, including a second from England international Semesa Rokoduguni, and the Army were sailing - until the Navy's AB(MW) Gareth Rees put the ball down in the corner to claw five back, that is.
But with the score 26-12, surely it'd be too big an ask for the Navy.
Not so. They were back in it after being awarded a penalty try - heavy pressure having led to Army's CSgt Paul Llewellyn being sinbinned.
And the scores were level after AB(D) Rhys Dimmock Williams went over the line for the Navy to cap an incredible comeback.
It still looked a step too far after the Army scored a vital penalty to lead 29 - 26.
But then AET Jon Humphrey wrote his name in the history books by putting the scores level with his own penalty. And the Navy held on.
Congratulations to both sides for a fantastic match and especially to the Navy, new Inter-Services champions!
