Veterans Create Their Way To Recovery
A new art exhibition showcasing the work of injured veterans has just opened.
It's called "The Art of Recovery", and is the work of Bravo 22 Company, which previously had success with its "The Two Worlds of Charlie F" theatre production.
This new venture features life-size sculptures made from wire mesh, and helped the veterans in their recovery.
One such veteran is David Pegram, formerly of the 26 Engineer Regiment, who said:
"I've always been rubbish at art. I could never draw, paint, anything, but I like making things. So it was kind of the drive to start something new and... keep myself busy that stopped me falling into a deeper hole".
The exhibition is currently showing at Brighton's The Phoenix Centre throughout the weekend, after which it will move to Royal British Legion pop-in centres around the country.
