Amazing Action In Rugby Inter-Services Clash

It was a clean sweep for the Army men and women against the RAF in the latest inter-services rugby clashes.

A super solo try from England international Semesa Rokoduguni helped the Army players claim their first victory over the Royal Air Force since 2014 as they recorded a 35-14 win in Aldershot.

Junior Bulumakau, Matt Dawson and Rob Lennox also crossed for the Army as they outscored their rivals by four tries to one.

Rob Bell grabbed a consolation effort for the light blues, with the defeat ending their hopes of winning this year's Inter-Services Championship.

Instead, it's the Army who can now look forward to their showdown against the Royal Navy at a sold-out Twickenham Stadium, knowing a draw is enough to see them crowned forces champions for 2017.

Earlier, it had been a much closer battle in a fantastic women's match.

The RAF led first through a great interception try from Kate Edwards, before the Army replied almost immediately through Carrie Roberts.

Rhi Walton scored again for the RAF with a try set up by Amy Cokayne, before the Army added three further tries before half-time - two from Louise Dodd and one from Chelsey Snead.

Their half-time lead of 28-14 was pegged back after the break by Cokayne and in a frantic last few minutes the two sides shared another try each.

The final result: 35-26 to the Army.

And to cap off a day of success for the Army, it also came out on top in the earlier veterans' game.
