Service pride on the line: HMS Sultan hosts boxing event with Army v Navy flair

HMS Sultan provided a night of knock-out boxing action featuring British Army and Royal Navy boxers.
A combined Navy team, which included boxers from HMS Sultan, HMS Collingwood, HMS Nelson, 42 Commando, 45 Commando and 847 Squadron, went up against Army fighters from the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and the Duke of Lancaster's Regiment.
There were also a number of guest fighters from civilian clubs such as Crawley ABC, Woking ABC, Golden Ring ABC, Poseidon, and Baker Street ABC.

The most exciting bout of the night saw Able Rate Eccles lose to Crawley ABC's Archie Minter, while Marine Connor Fanning picked up a win in the 75kg fight.
"It was brilliant to see such great boxing on display," said the Sultan Boxing Show director, Leading Physical Training Instructor Tommy Everitt.
"For many of the fighters, this was their first time in the ring, especially in front of a crowd, and they should all be very proud. We hope to see many of them back in the ring, developing their skills and competing for the Navy Boxing Squad.
"Well done to our Royal Navy boxers and thank you to the REME fighters, Duke of Lancaster Regiment fighters for making it a great night."
