Army Medical Services Footballers Retain Edwards Cup
The Army Medical Services (AMS) football team has retained the Edwards Cup in Bicester, coming from behind to beat Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) in the final.
A second-half turnaround meant AMS ran out 3-2 winners.
It took just ten minutes for the holders to take the lead.
Imogen Fisher was caught by Jodie Allen's late challenge and captain Del Clifford stepped up to slot home the penalty.
REME came back into it though and were leading 2-1 at half-time.
A stunning chipped goal from Jemma Dinning levelled the scores before UKAF striker Kelly Aldridge ran through to place her shot past the helpless AMS goalkeeper.
AMS had plenty of chances in the second half.
Courtney Paxton went close before a mistake from REME goalkeeper Katie O'Brien provided a defining moment in the match.
She rushed out to clear a pass behind the defence but got her kick all wrong and Kiera Fitzpatrick had the simple task of putting the ball into the empty net.
Tia Packham should have scored the third AMS goal of the match.

She got the ball past O'Brien but fired into the side netting with an open goal gaping.
The holders would get their winning goal with their second penalty of the match.
Clifford burst into the box and was clipped by Katie Harding's clumsy tackle.
That meant the skipper could step up again and she kept her cool to make it 3-2.
REME tried to find another equaliser, but Aldridge could only shoot wide and AMS could lift the Edwards Cup for the second successive year.
