British Army ready for 'two cup finals' ahead of live Inter Services clash with RAF
It's a new Inter Services with another new coaching set-up for the British Army men's football team to tackle, but will Captain Al Brown be the secret to trophy success?
The Army kick off the 2025 Inter Services with a trip to Croud Meadow, Shrewsbury, to take on the RAF, who were the 2024 champions.
They've been preparing for the match in Aldershot, and their captain, Sergeant Craig Stevenson, is expecting a typically tough Inter Services clash.
"Inter Services are always going to be a hard-contested game so we've just got to prepare how we best can prepare," said the defender, who netted against the Royal Navy last year in Portsmouth.
"It's two hard games and, as we see it, and they probably see it as well, it's two cup finals. We go in and give 100% each game."
Capt Brown has seen a positive start to his reign as Army boss, with momentum picked up at the start of the season with important wins
The Inter Services, however, is a different challenge altogether.
He said: "The other two services are playing some really good football at the minute.
"We believe they're in a good place. Good players, their coaches are doing very well, and the shapes are decent.
"You've seen the Inter Services many times before. As soon as the boys go over that white line, it's about the will, the effort, the run rate and trying to play some great football, as well, which we hope we've got within us."
