The Royal Navy have announced that their men's football team have won the Team of the Year award.

In March, Elliot Holmes' header secured a first Inter Services trophy for eight years after a 2-1 win over the RAF.

They followed that up with a win in the Portsmouth Senior Cup final to complete the double and will receive their award at the Royal Navy Sports Awards on 28 November.

In head coach Chris James' first season in charge, the Navy won 10 out of 11 competitive matches to lift the two trophies.

You can rewatch the Navy's successful Inter Services campaign in full on the BFBS Forces News YouTube channel.
