Preview: RAF to face the Navy in first U23s Inter Services clash

The Under-23's Inter Services returns this coming Wednesday where the Royal Air Force and the Royal Navy will face each other in the first fixture at Rayners Lane F.C. in Harrow.
The clash between the RAF and the Navy will be the first of three fixtures of the tournament, where the Navy are the defending Inter Services champions.
The Navy U23s Head Coach, Lieutenant Commander Chris James, told BFBS in January that he expects both teams from the RAF and the Army "to be a massive challenge" despite being the reigning champions.
The Navy U23s beat the RAF 2-1 at last year's Inter Services, which kept their title hopes alive after they had lost to the Army in their first fixture.
The RAF went on to play the Army where the title was decided in controversy after it was found that the Army had fielded an ineligible player, and an RAF win against the Army meant the Navy took the title.
The RAF last won the U23s Inter Services title in 2020, where they thrashed the Navy in a 4-0 victory. The 2021 Inter Services was not held due to the coronavirus pandemic.
If the RAF beat the Navy on Wednesday, they will have a chance to tie up the Inter Services title early if they beat the Army on 15 February, all before the Navy would have a chance to face the Army themselves in two weeks.
The first fixture will be shown LIVE on Forces News YouTube channel, and you can find out how you can watch here.
