Royal Engineers football celebrate anniversary year by winning Woolwich Cup
The Royal Engineers football team have won the 2025 Woolwich Cup in Aldershot after a 4-2 win over the Royal Logistic Corps in the final.
The triumph coincides with the 150th anniversary of the Royal Engineers' greatest ever sporting victory – winning the FA Cup in 1875.
Goals from Matty Coar and Ryan Perry, as well as a double from Ryan Fagan, steered the Engineers to final success.

The Sappers are one of the most successful sides in Army Inter Corps football, and they broke the deadlock midway through the first half when Fagan headed on for teammate George Howard to chase, and he teed up Coar, who swept the ball home.
Perry's goal for an Engineers' second was something special as he rifled in from 25-yards and left RLC goalkeeper Harry Birchnall helpless in trying to stop it.
It wasn't all Engineers' success though, as the RLC sparked a comeback.
First, Jay-Z Ryan put through his own net before Aaron Marley's weak back pass led to Sam Catton's clearance being charged down by Buster Reed and the score was level at 2-2.
Extra time would be needed as this is where the pacy legs of Fagan took control of the game for the Engineers.
His two-goal salvo was the deciding factor, and the Engineers lifted the trophy to wild celebrations.
