UK Armed Forces in Kentish Cup contention after fending off Dutch challenge

Watch: UK Armed Forces men play the Dutch Armed Forces in the Kentish Cup

The UK Armed Forces men have given themselves a strong chance to win the Kentish Cup after they beat the Dutch Armed Forces 5-2 in France.

The Dutch were the first to score through Vincent Hoekstra, but a Jack Wright header equalised soon after for UKAF.

Elliot Holmes then got himself on the scoresheet to make it 2-1, until Dutchman Cornell Balk caught UKAF napping to equalise before half-time.

With a lot on the line in the second half, skipper Danny Kerr scored to give UKAF back the lead, and moments later he came back with a brace to extend UKAF's lead to 4-2.

With minutes to spare, Elliot Holmes positioned himself perfectly in the penalty area to score a brace of his own to give UKAF a 5-2 win over the Dutch Armed Forces.

With UKAF's Kentish Cup campaign now over, their fate will be realised when the Dutch play the French Armed Forces in the Kentish Cup decider on Friday.

The title could be decided on goal difference after UKAF drew 1-1 with the French in their first Kentish Cup fixture on Monday.
