Women's Alpine Parallel Giant Slalom decided in dramatic tie-breaking run in Meribel
The women's Alpine Parallel Giant Slalom ended in dramatic fashion at the Inter Services Snow Sports Championships after the final between the RAF's Ella Johnson and the Royal Navy's Anna Combe ended in a rare tie after two runs.
Johnson emerged as the winner of the first run, but Combe then came back at her RAF rival in the second run - which resulted in a dead heat between the two competitors and the final result being rendered too close to call.
After a moment of confusion and then disbelief, the two finalists then made their way back up to the top of slope to complete a third sudden death run.
In the third run shootout, the two were closely matched - but RAF skier Ella Johnson just emerged ahead of her Navy rival to eventually win the women's title, with Combe having to settle for second.
The British Army's Abigail Binnington beat fellow Army teammate Eleanor Thorn to win the third place final.
In the men's competition, it was another successful outing for the Royal Navy with Jack Dannes winning the men's final over the RAF's Jed McNab, who made the final despite losing a ski in the earlier rounds.
The Royal Navy's James French beat the RAF's John Erskine to win the third place final.
