Royal Air Force claim commanding win over Navy in Inter Services Netball opener
The Royal Air Force has claimed a decisive win in the opening fixture of the Inter Services Netball Championships with a commanding 63-30 victory over the Royal Navy.
Having lost out to the title in 2023 to the Army, the RAF has returned with a vengeance in 2024, taking command of the game in the first quarter having built a 19-6 lead.
The Royal Navy showed glimpses of clawing the scores back in the second quarter, but the RAF maintained their lead at 33-16 going into half time.
The RAF then showed no signs of slowing down in the beginning of the third quarter, spreading themselves away from the Navy to go into the final quarter with a score of 48-22.
Come the fourth and final quarter time was running out for the Navy to make an impact, and come the final whistle the RAF would claim a commanding 63-30 win over the Navy.
As the winners of the opening game, the RAF will need to wait until Friday to face the Army as they look to stake their claim on the Inter Services title that got away from them last year.
The Navy will now face the Army on Thursday which will be broadcast live on Forces News YouTube and Facebook.
