Rugby For Heroes: Coaching The Coaches

Rugby for Heroes works with the rugby community to raise funds and awareness for military personnel who are making the transition to civilian life.

Spearheaded by its patron, ex-England international Mike Tindall, the charity is running four coaching courses a year, giving servicemen and women an RFU qualification which can be utilised in any rugby club throughout the UK.

Proceeds from last September's star studded Rugby Aid match went towards Rugby for Heroes, as a host of famous faces, including former internationals, teamed up for an England 15 v Rest of the World 15 at the Twickenham Stoop

But behind all the celebrity stardust, there's a practical every day reason for fundraising events like this

Thinus Delport is a hands on instructor on the 'Transition Through Rugby' courses and was integral in bringing them about.

The courses are open to anyone – men and women from all three services – each course is five days long and they have a maximum of 15 attendees and a minimum of 10.
