British Army knocked out of Challenge Cup after West London thrashing

Watch: Wests Warriors hosts the British Army in the second round of the Betfred Challenge Cup

The British Army have been knocked out of the Betfred Challenge Cup in the second round after suffering a 36-18 thrashing to London-based side Wests Warriors.

The home team made a strong start, scoring twice in the first 10 minutes with tries by Louis Robinson and Paul McCullough.

The Army soon got on the scoreboard thanks to duel-coded star Cam McDonald, and Frank Kelly followed that up with another try for the Army in the closing half of the first 40 minutes.

But the Wests Warriors continued to deny the men in red and sported a commanding 22-12 lead at halftime.

The Army started the second half in spectacular fashion as Wests Warriors fumbled a dropped ball which was immediately picked up by Cam McDonald, who then offloaded to Jeke Nukuse as the left wing sprinted across the field to dot down for the Army.

But despite that early second-half mistake, the Army just could not play the game they wanted and their tactics were read well as the Warriors scored another three tries in the second half to take the game 36-18.
