Amy Cokayne scores try to help Red Roses to World Cup victory against Canada

For the first time since 2014, England's Red Roses are world champions and Royal Air Force star, Flight Lieutenant Amy Cokayne, scored a significant try to help the home favourites to a 13-33 win over Canada at a record-packed Allianz Stadium.
The England hooker's try came at the 19th minute, after throwing the ball in from a line-out, and a rolling maul drove the England side over the whitewash, and it was the RAF star who bagged those points for the Red Roses.
England stars Ellie Killdunne, Abbie Ward and Alex Matthews, were the other try scorers for the Red Roses, with Zoe Harrison adding in the conversions.
Canada, who was also the team who conceded the World Cup victory to England in 2024, simply had no answer to the Red Roses' performance and could only manage two tries from their inside centre Asia Hogan-Rochester.
Following England's triumphant win in the final, Flt Lt Cokayne took to Instagram to post an image of her lifting the World Cup trophy included with the simple caption "No words".
The RAF police officer joined the RAF following England's World Cup defeat to New Zealand in 2017, and is supported by the RAF's Elite Athlete Scheme, allowing her to train full-time whilst also serving in her role in the RAF Police.
England's final against Canada marked her third World Cup final, after she also played in the last two world cups in 2017 and in 2022, where England twice lost to New Zealand.
