Winners on and off the court: Army netball triumph in Team of the Year award

The British Army women's netball team have won the 2025 Army Team of the Year award.
A brilliant year, which saw a seventh consecutive Inter Services triumph, is capped off by the prestigious award, which they will receive at the ceremony on 20 November.
On the court, the team have had an impressive year, including wins over the under-21 teams from Super League franchises Team Bath and Mavericks, as well as winning a two-test series against the Republic of Ireland.

They played in the curtain-raiser for the England Netball International Series at Nottingham's Motorpoint Arena and, perhaps most impressively, won the US Open Netball Championships against teams from 24 states across America.
Off the court, they were featured in British Army recruitment campaigns that demonstrated 'what's in it for me?' to the nation and have seen a number of players compete at Super League level.
Elsewhere, the Army have also announced who will receive a Lifetime Achievement award at the ceremony.
A large number of nominations came in, but organisers have decided that Lieutenant Colonel Mark Goodson from winter sport would take the award.
He's been a major inspiration for British Nordic skiing and biathlon for the past 50 years and has been instrumental in the growth of winter sport in the British military.
He was also a key figure in the founding of the International Biathlon Union in 1993, as well as serving as Secretary General of the British Biathlon Union in 1996.
