British Army rugby union record double win in 'Le Crunch' against French Army
The British Army have won both the men's and women's 'Le Crunch' rugby union matches in 2025.
The annual fixture between the men's British Army and French Army teams was joined by a women's encounter for the first time.
The men's match saw the Army win 47-12, while earlier in the day, Jade Mullen led the Army women's team to a 17-14 win.
Army men looking good for Twickenham
The fixture against the French was one of the final stops for Lieutenant Colonel Tim Osman's Inter Service champions on to road to their clash with the Royal Navy at the Allianz Stadium, commonly known as Twickenham Stadium, on 3 May.
They were in scoring form in Aldershot with Dylan Morris scoring a hat-trick of tries on only his second appearance for the senior team.
An early red card for the French, after Nathaniel Titchard-Jones took a swinging arm to the head, helped the Army's cause, with Solo Radianirova, Vereimi Qorowale, Oni Nayagi and Epeli Kotobalavu all grabbing tries.
The reigning Inter Service champions look in frightening form ahead of the 2025 tournament.
A historic first-ever clash
The first-ever meeting between two prideful teams usually means both sets of players desperate to put their names in the history books.
That's what the afternoon fixture saw in Aldershot, but it was the hosts who would be celebrating.
Millie Williams, Kaitlyn Fraser – on her debut – and Manu Komaitai got the tries as the Army raced into a 17-0 lead.
The French pulled two converted tries back but the Army held to win the inaugural clash between the two teams.
