Royal Air Force Flight Lieutenant Amy Cokayne has produced a star performance for England as they won a third sucessive Six Nations Grand Slam.

The Red Roses beat France in Bordeaux by 42 points to 21 on Saturday.

Flt Lt Cokayne scored one of their seven converted tries and displayed some superb line-out play.

The RAF will be hoping she will be available to play for them against the Army in their Inter Service clash at Gloucester in two weeks.

Five first-half tries from the Red Roses was an emphatic display against a team they had only beaten once by more than one score in the past four Six Nations.

Superb play from Flt Lt Cokayne ensured England had a commanding 35-14 lead at half-time.

Being a player down for the majority of the second half meant that there was no famous comeback from the French side and England successfully saw out the victory.

Flt Lt Cokayne had an eventful return to international competition for England against Scotland earlier this month.

The Rugby Union player had bounced back from an injury and started for England for the first time in 12 months at The Hive.

She kicked off the scoring in England's 46-0 win with the opening try – a jinking run and finish from close range.

However, Flt Lt Cokayne's discipline became an issue as she was sin-binned in the first half for an illegal tackle.

Her fortunes got worse in the second half as a second yellow card for a high tackle saw her sent off.

This latest victory over France means the Red Roses extend their championship winning record to 29 games.
