A Royal Navy women's development rugby union team has beaten club side Portsmouth Valkyries 41-0 in their final match of the calendar year.

Head coach Sarah Jenkins utilised her long list of replacements in a soggier second half, and her side added another 17 points to their score, thanks to tries from vice-captain hooker Freya Moore and Jess Bryan, and Laika Swain stole the show with a remarkable kick return to run half the pitch and score.
The coaching staff will soon turn their attention to the Inter Service fixtures against the British Army and Royal Air Force in the spring.
