British Army dominate on grass to win Inter Services titles at the All England Club

The British Army have once again dominated the Inter Services Tennis Championships at the All England Club in Wimbledon, bagging the team titles in both the men's and women's events.

The championships are regularly staged at Wimbledon as a thank you from the All England Club for the service personnel who carry out stewarding duties during the Wimbledon championships.

The Army fended off the Royal Air Force, who once again had to settle for second in both the men's and women's team championships, with the Royal Navy occupying the bottom spot.

In the singles tournaments, Major Ben Rogers successfully defended the men's title that he won last year – cementing himself at the top of the men's game in the UK Armed Forces.

The women's singles title was won by RAF player Officer Cadet Alexa Wilson.

Meanwhile in the masters, the Army were denied wins in both the men's and women's competition where the RAF narrowly beat the Army in the men's masters to win by a 2-1 tiebreaker.

It was a difficult tournament for the Navy, however a win in the women's masters means the Senior Service don't go home empty handed.
