The Royal Navy American Football Association (RNAF) has announced Petty Officer Jos Tector as their new head coach for the upcoming season.

PO Tector has been involved in Royal Navy American Football since its formation at the end of 2020 as a coach and a Quarterback player for the Navy.

He is the current Assistant Head Coach and Quarterbacks coach for Plymouth Vanguard – who he helped coach to their Division Championship win this year, as well as being the Defensive Coordinator for Cornwall Monarchs.

On the announcement, a statement from RNAF said: "Jos Tector is a serving petty officer in the Royal Navy. He has been around RNAF since its formation and has been involved in both the coaching and playing sides of the game.

"We are excited to see where Jos's winning mentality and abundance of experience will take RNAF going into next year's Inter Services fixtures and beyond."

The Royal Navy lost both of their Inter Services fixtures against the Army Jackals and the RAF Mustangs in 2026.

A relatively new sport in the services, American Football was officially granted Category 2 status by the UK Armed Forces Sports Board last year as the sport continues to expand across the military.
