Test Of Faith On The Way To Lord’s

Army v Hants cricket

Hampshire are one of the big guns of English Cricket, currently sitting third in the County Championship, so this T20 fixture at Southampton was always going to test the Army side.

And winning the toss was the only small victory the Army enjoyed on the day.  Opting to field, it was a question of seeing what total they'd eventually face.

The professional players wasted little time before lashing the Army bowling attack to all parts of The Ageas Bowl, scoring a total of 292 for six.

In reply, the Army made a non-too shabby 172 for seven against the county stars of the future.

The Bowl was a fine backdrop but next Thursday it’s the home of cricket for the Army as they look to defend their Inter Services T20 title.
