A lance corporal in the Royal Marines has finished third at the European Bobsleigh Championships in Norway.

LCpl Taylor Lawrence was part of the GB four-man team, driven by Brad Hall, alongside Leon Greenwood and Aaron Gulliver.

The team finished joint third in the race in Lillehammer, Norway, which also doubled up as the latest World Cup race.

Their time of one minute 40.05 seconds was equal to the Swiss bob driven by Michael Vogt – and just two-tenths of a second slower than the German winners.

It means they keep their place second in the overall World Cup rankings.

Hall and Lawrence also won bronze in the two-man European championships and in both events, they were only beaten by the top two German bobsleighs.

There was also 18th place finish for fellow Royal Marine driver Adam Baird's GB 2 team at Lillehammer.

It comes after LCpl Lawrence won silver at the IBSF Bobsleigh World Cup in Igls, Austria, as part of Great Britain's GB1 four-man bobsleigh team.
