The piece of RAF history left abandoned in Cyprus' eerie buffer zone
Abandoned at the UN buffer zone in Cyprus lies a piece of Royal Air Force history - an Avro Shackleton.
The aircraft, which was designed to conduct anti-submarine patrols out in the North Atlantic, is lying in a field at the former RAF Nicosia.
"The aircraft was loved by those that flew it, apparently very noisy," said Captain Philip Brazier of 71 Engineer Regiment, Royal Engineers.
In the footage above, Capt Brazier has given Forces News a special look around the remnants of the aircraft.
He added: "It's great to be able to tell our soldiers about the heritage that's here and link in with the RAF.
"We've had personnel come here from RAF Akrotiri and some of them get really excited about seeing it."
