Fears 'it's a matter of when not if' Russia attacks Odessa, former marine reports

People of the Ukrainian port city Odessa fear an "imminent" Russian attack, according to a former Royal Marine Commando.

Speaking from the streets of Odessa, filmmaker Emile Ghessen told Forces News: "The Russians are moving up slowly day by day taking more territory. And that's why the atmosphere in Odessa is, it's a matter of when not if Odessa is going to be attacked."

Odessa in southern Ukraine could be of strategic importance to the Russians, giving them control over Ukraine's Black Sea coast if they were to take capture the city.
