Russian artillery strikes on rise, with shells said to come from North Korea

Ukrainian soldiers on the frontline have seen a rise in the number of Russian artillery strikes as evidence mounts that Moscow has taken delivery of shells supplied by North Korea.

Washington says it has evidence that Pyongyang has provided Russia with around a million 152mm shells since August.

In return, North Korea could be given access to Russian weapons technology, which could bolster its nuclear ambitions.

Ukraine's commander in chief, Valery Zaluzhny, has admitted the war is now deadlocked, with Russia's numerical superiority being cancelled out by the Western-supplied weaponry of Ukraine.
