Russian convoy outside Kyiv moves on, satellite images appear to show

Satellite images appear to show a 40-mile Russian military convoy just outside the Ukrainian capital Kyiv splitting up and moving elsewhere.
The line of vehicles had massed outside the city early last week, but its advance appeared to have stalled amid reports of food and fuel shortages.
The vehicles have dispersed into towns and forests near Kyiv, with artillery pieces raised into a potentially ominous firing position, the pictures from Maxar Technologies appear to indicate.
Armoured units were seen in towns near the Antonov airport north of the city. Some of the vehicles have moved into forests, Maxar reported, with towed howitzers nearby in position to open fire.

US officials said Ukrainian troops also targeted the convoy with anti-tank missiles.
The photos emerged amid more international efforts to isolate and sanction Russia, particularly after a deadly airstrike on a maternity hospital in the port city of Mariupol that Western and Ukrainian officials decried as a war crime.
On Friday, the US and allies were ready to announce they were revoking Russia's "most favoured nation" trade status, which would enable tariffs to be placed on Russian imports.
Despite recent sanctions, Russia continued to bombard Mariupol, while Kyiv has been preparing for an assault.
