UK defence chief meets Ukrainian President amid missile threat from Putin

The Chief of the Defence Staff has met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to discuss the UK's continued support for his country – amid Russia's threats of further bombings.
Admiral Sir Tony Radakin led the delegation which spoke to the President and his top military figures to outline how future support for Ukraine in the face of Russia's illegal invasion would continue.
Mr Zelensky said: "I am grateful to the people and Government of the United Kingdom for their long-lasting support.
"I had a meeting with the UK delegation led by Chief of the Defence Staff Admiral Sir Tony Radakin.
"We discussed defence cooperation between Ukraine and the United Kingdom, focusing on developing and enhancing the technological capabilities of the armed forces of Ukraine.
"Particular attention was given to Ukraine's current military needs and the continued support from our partners.
"Our countries maintain good contacts and strong cooperation."
The meeting took place amid speculation that the UK-supplied Storm Shadow has been used inside Russia, although Defence Secretary John Healey has refused to confirm if that is the case.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has threatened to use more ballistic missiles against Ukraine in response to the UK and US allowing their own supplied weapons to be used against targets inside Russia.
Mr Zelensky also confirmed that further strikes had been made against Ukraine, showing that Russia had no interest in peace.
"The use of a ballistic missile against Ukraine today is yet more proof that Russia has no interest in peace," he said.
Foreign Secretary David Lammy has vowed to continue to "do everything that is necessary" to help Kyiv combat Russia in response to threats made by Mr Putin.
