Carrier Strike Group 25 has departed Singapore and is heading south towards Australia as it continues its eight-month deployment.

CSG25 will participate in the eleventh edition of the large-scale Australian-led multinational exercise called Exercise Talisman Sabre, which involves significant US forces.

It comes after F-35B Lightning jets from 617 Squadron and 809 Naval Air Squadron were pictured in the Garden City, where personnel conducted joint training and assisted with regional engagement.

"Terima kasih, Singapore!" HMS Prince of Wales said in a post on X as she left the city-state, which translates from Malay as "thank you".

The post was accompanied by images of personnel participating in activities such as stroking the water in a dragon boat, playing cricket and wearing their formal uniforms.

Exercise Talisman Sabre aims to test Australian, US and UK forces and their allies in organising and conducting multinational task force operations, and to improve the combat readiness and interoperability between them.

Personnel will participate in drills focusing on live-fire exercises, field training exercises, amphibious landings, ground force manoeuvres, and air combat and maritime operations, which is where CSG25 will come into play.

The training will take place in several locations in Australia and offshore, using civilian and defence land.

Nineteen nations were invited to attend the training this year, according to the Australian government's department of defence.

The CSG25 deployment, also known as Operation Highmast, involves around 4,500 British military personnel, including nearly 600 RAF and 900 soldiers, alongside 2,500 Royal Navy sailors and Royal Marines.

Australia marks the final destination of the voyage.
