RFA Tidespring's Merlin completes search and rescue training after leaving CSG25

RFA Tidespring's Merlin helicopter has conducted search and rescue and casualty recovery training while on deployment after the vessel split off from Carrier Strike Group 25.
The Tide-class tanker had recently left the CSG25 before the other ships in the group passed through the Suez Canal.
The 39,000-tonne vessel will travel south around the Cape of Good Hope before rejoining CSG25 in the Indian Ocean.
The Merlin helicopter is shown landing on the helipad on the ship in four pictures released on RFA Tidespring's social media profile on X.
"TSPG's embarked Merlin, continuing to keep up the flying training, today was search and rescue and casualty recovery training," the post said.
It comes after the Royal Navy confirmed that CSG25 had sailed through the Suez Canal as it pushes towards Australia.
There are 12 countries participating in the CSG deployment, known as Operation Highmast, which will last eight months and cover more than 30,000 miles.
The Carrier Strike Group will conduct further large-scale exercises with allies in the Middle East, Japan and Australia.
More than 4,500 British military personnel are involved, including nearly 600 from the RAF, 900 soldiers, and 2,500 Royal Navy sailors and Royal Marines.
