Army Engineers Reach Out To Minority Students

Soldiers from Catterick have been teaching young people from minority communities how to make miniature wind turbines in an attempt raise awareness of the Army and what they do.

Once a month throughout the year – they are visiting community centres in West Yorkshire and presenting the youngsters there with their brown bag challenge.

In Britain today, people from Black, minority and ethnic – or BME communities make up 14% of the population.

In the Army, they represent just over 10% of the force, significantly more than 3.5% of the Navy and 2.1% of the Royal Airforce.
