Remembering VE Day
This week marks 70 years since the end of the Second World War in Europe.
Thousands of veterans, families and military personnel will gather in London and across the country on Friday to remember Victory in Europe, or VE Day.
George Forster was serving in Belgium when the news came in 1945. He spoke to Forces TV's Kaija Larke about his recollections of the conflict.
Recently, meanwhile, we spoke to a former Civil Defence volunteer, who told us "nothing can compare" to the celebrations held in Weymouth when it was announced the Second World War was finally over.
