In pictures: Armistice Day 2022

These pictures show how personnel, veterans and members of the public have marked Armistice Day around the forces world.

It marks the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month - the moment the guns fell silent at the end of the First World War.

Big Ben sounded to start the two minutes' silence at the Cenotaph in central London.

Services have been held across the UK, including in London, Edinburgh, Belfast, Cardiff and Portsmouth.

Overseas commemorations included services in the Falklands.

The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were at the Armistice Day Service at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire.

The British Army's 1RSME Regiment marked Armistice Day at Brompton Barracks at Chatham in Kent.
