The founder of the Soldiering On Awards, RAF Wing Commander Tal Lambert-Moore MBE, has died of pancreatic cancer.

Wg Cdr Lambert-Moore passed away on 28 December after receiving a diagnosis two months ago.

His wife Hannah is currently pregnant.

Posting on LinkedIn a month ago, Wg Cdr Lambert-Moore said he had "some wonderful and some difficult news to share".

"Firstly, the good news is that Han and I are expecting a baby boy in March, who we are naming George after my grandfather who has such a positive influence in my life," he said.

"Sadly the difficult news is that four weeks ago I was diagnosed with advanced stage IV pancreatic cancer that has spread to my liver.

"This was completely out of the blue as I had no real symptoms before this time.

"I'm receiving chemotherapy at the outstanding Great Western Hospital who have all pulled together to support myself, Hannah and Pepper as my assistant dog.

"I'm going to fight this for all it's worth and a huge shout out to all my friends who are fundraising, cycling, running and doing so much to help with our situation."

This included a friend who set up a crowdfunding page to support Wg Cdr Lambert-Moore's family.
