Charity fund-raisers have swum the English Channel to raise money for military personnel and their families.

Twelve volunteers from the Land Warfare Centre and the British Army Recruiting Group have completed the 26-mile channel swim and helped raise £10,000 for soldiers and veterans.

"Both teams have officially completed the Channel Swim challenge earlier today," said the Army Benevolent Fund, the British Army's national charity.

The charity wrote on social media: "Six swimmers from the Land Warfare Centre and six more from the British Army Recruiting Group have done us proud by covering 26 miles across the English Channel.

"Collectively, they have raised over £10,000 for soldiers, former soldiers, and their families.

"A massive congratulations and well done to both teams."
