Member of Armed Forces killed in road traffic incident in Ukraine – family informed

A member of the UK Armed Forces has been killed in a road traffic incident in Ukraine.

An MOD spokesperson said it happened on Saturday.

"The family have been informed and have requested a period of grace before further details are released," they added.

"Our thoughts and our sympathies are with the individual's loved ones at this difficult time."

The incident is understood not to be the result of hostile action.

A small number of British personnel are present in Ukraine, where they have been providing security to the UK's diplomatic presence and supporting the armed forces of Ukraine.
