Comedian and TV host Jimmy Fallon invited to dinner with 5 Scots during visit to Scotland

The Royal Regiment of Scotland gave an American late-night TV star a black-tie dinner after bumping into him during his holiday to Scotland.
Jimmy Fallon, host of The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon and Saturday Night Live alumnus, was throwing a friend's New York Police Department tie clip into the River Dee when he met some personnel working at Balmoral Castle.
Mr Fallon, 51, was later given an invitation for a dinner at the officers' mess following his own offer of a drink at the five-star hotel, The Fife Arms, where he was staying.
Personnel from Balaklava Company 5th Battalion Royal Regiment of Scotland came over to see what the star was doing as he threw the clip into the river beneath.
"What are you doing?" They asked.
"A little littering," the comedian replied. "You know, not too much. I was just… "
The troops quickly recognised the star and sent an invitation for a black-tie dinner to his hotel, which he had to reply to by midday.
Mr Fallon afterwards called the night manager, Muir, to try to get his hands on a kilt for the dinner.
Muir donated his own kilt for the occasion, and Muir, Mr Fallon and Muir's friend, Mick "Frankensteined together a kilt with everything".
Mr Fallon's outfit included black kilt socks, a sporran – "that little flappy thing in front of the kilt" – a black bow tie, and a kilt jacket.
The producer then attended the dinner at the officers' mess at Victoria Barracks in Ballater, wearing the kilt outfit assembled with the help of the night manager.
"We had the best dinner!" the star told his 11.5 million followers on TikTok in a video that has amassed 1.2m views.
"I had a Scotch egg. There were great speeches given. We had the best dinner."
The soldiers presented Mr Fallon with a Glengarry hat and Buckfast during the evening.
After the comedian said he liked the kilts that the personnel were wearing, Sergeant Cooper left the dinner and made a kilt for the American.
Mr Fallon also gave shout-outs to several personnel in the video, including Lieutenant Flora Thomas, Captain Sammy, and Major Tommy Blair.
"I'm just so grateful, thankful for everyone being so nice in Scotland," he concluded.
"I'm not Scottish, I'm not pretending to be Scottish, but I feel like, right now, I might be the most Scottish person in Scotland. I mean, I drank buckie [another name for Buckfast]."
During his solo holiday to Scotland, Mr Fallon spent a night on the Royal Scotsman train, participated in a whisky tasting and also visited Billy Connolly's house and took a picture outside.
