Pipers from the 2nd Battalion the Royal Regiment of Scotland will perform at the wedding of Princess Eugenie of York and Jack Brooksbank on Friday.

The pipers will play Scottish pieces from the Garter Tower at Windsor Castle, as the Bride and Groom depart in the Carriage Procession.

2 SCOTS spent six months in South Sudan, Cyprus and in Iraq as part of Operation Shadar, training local security forces in how best to combat Daesh.

Hundreds of troops from the regiment have took part in their final homecoming parade in Glasgow at the weekend.

On Thursday, the regiment paraded through Penicuik as part of their homecoming celebrations.

Taking to Twitter, the Battalion said they were asked by HRH Prince Andrew:

State Trumpeters from the Band of the Household Cavalry are set to perform a fanfare during the service, which has been written especially for the occasion by the Commanding Officer of the Bands of the Household Division, Lieutenant Colonel Darren Wolfendale.

Members of Nijmegen Company Grenadier Guards will also be attending - of which the Duke of York is Colonel.

They will line the West Steps of St George's Chapel as the couple departs after the wedding ceremony.

The Household Division's involvement further reflects Mr Brooksbank's family's military history as his great-grandfather, Sir Jack Coke, was an officer in the Scots Guards.
