Celebrating The Armed Forces: Longleat Military Spectacular
This weekend Longleat hosted its first ever Military Spectacular to celebrate the Armed Forces.
The event featured tanks, helicopters and military vehicles alongside live demonstrations, a marching band and parachute displays.
There was also an unarmed combat display by The Royal Marines alongside talks and demonstrations from the farriers and saddlers of The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery, whilst the EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) showcased a bomb disposal robot.

Earlier this year General Sir Nick Carter, Chief of the General Staff of the British Army, visited Longleat to officially witness the signing of the Armed Forces Covenant by Viscount Weymouth.
The spectacular marks the Wiltshire Estate’s ongoing partnership with the Armed Forces.
Lt Col Guy Benson, who played a part in the event, spoke about the reasoning behind the event's unusual locaiton:
“Almost a third of the Army is based in the southwest- the military is really keen to connect with society and Longleat offers us the opportunity to connect with a whole range of people”.
