From disruptive passengers to hijackings, meet the people keeping order in the sky

Last year, Operation Pitting saw thousands of British nationals, former Afghan staff and families and entitled personnel evacuated from Kabul.

During the operation, Military Aviation Protection Officers (MAPOs) were thrown into the spotlight.

Responsible for ensuring everyone on board a military aircraft is safe, MAPOs must be ready to deal with everything â€“ from nervous or disruptive passengers to hijackings and bombs.

There are currently 136 trained MAPOs in the UK.

Forces News joined the most recent cohort of recruits as they graduated from the course.
