Monument Unveiled to Britons Who Died in Antarctica

A monument has been unveiled to Britons who lost their lives in the name of science in Antarctica.

Since 1948, 28 men and one woman have died in the British Antarctic Territory, the most recent in 2003.

The memorial sits on the waterfront in Stanley, capital of the Falkland Islands, where each person would have passed through on their way to the Polar South.
