
In Pictures: Royal Mail Celebrates History Of Army Vehicles

The Royal Mail has today revealed images of 12 new stamps that illustrate the development of British Army vehicles and hardware over the decades.
Included in the set are eight images featuring paintings of important British Army armoured vehicles in action since the First World War.
Seven of the eight stamps in the main set were illustrated for the Royal Mail by military artist Mick Graham, a former member of the 4th Royal Tank Regiment, who served for 15 years before turning his hand to art.
Included in the pack is the Mk IV, Challenger 2, Centurion Mk 9, Matilda Mk II, Churchill AVRE, Scorpion, Chieftain Mk 5 and the recent Ajax vehicle.
A miniature set of four stamps also pay homage to a range of specialist support vehicles used for reconnaissance, protected patrol, artillery and air defence, engineering and logistics.
These stamps, presented in a miniature sheet, feature the Coyote (Tactical Support Vehicle), Army Wildcat (Reconnaissance Helicopter), Trojan (Armoured Vehicle Royal Engineers) and the Foxhound (Light Protected Patrol Vehicle).
The collection is available from 2 September.
