Prince Harry Returns To 'Veterans Village' On Manchester Trip

Prince Harry has visited a street in Manchester that has been transformed into a new community for veterans.

He met the residents of Canada Street, which has rehomed veterans in need, and their families.

The street was refurbished two years ago, supported by the charity Walking with the Wounded, with the work completed by DIY SOS.

The Prince met with ex-servicemen and women at Canada Street in Newton Heath, which he visited two years ago.

HRH also travelled to the Walking With the Wounded hub which is located in the village.

During the during a visit, he also travelled to the NHS Manchester Resilience Hub, set up as a dedicated mental health service for those affected by the suicide bombing of Manchester Arena.

In 2015 many of the houses were boarded up and unfit for habitation – there were cannabis factories on the street and crime was a problem.

Prince Harry and his brother the Duke of Cambridge took part in the build.

Walking for the Wounded continues to house veterans on the street and they have an office on the street to provide advice and support.
