
RAF Pilot Given Community Order After Attacking Girlfriend

A Royal Air Force pilot has been given an 18-month community order after pleading guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Flight Lieutenant Timothy Barry attacked his girlfriend, Squadron Leader Sarah Seddon, following a night out in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, to celebrate her return from a three-month tour of Afghanistan in 2018.
Both were pilots based at RAF Benson in Oxfordshire at the time.
Last month, Flt Lt Barry stood trial on charges of attempted murder and grievous bodily harm with intent - a jury found him not guilty on both counts.
Following Thursday's verdict, an RAF spokesperson told Forces News: "The RAF will consider the court’s findings and take any appropriate actionhowever, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time."
