Royal Marines Test Their Ability To Deploy At Short Notice
The Royal Marines logistics and support unit, the Commando Logistic Regiment has been testing the men and women of the tri-service regiment during an annual validation exercise.
Usually based in North Devon, the regiment set up camp in a Plymouth park - complete with their vehicles, hospital and drone operators - for Exercise Green Dragon.
From the use of cutting-edge military technology through to the basics of good soldering, the exercise tests their ability to deploy on operations at short notice.

Military generals and VIPs from the UK and overseas visited the exercise to access the regiment.
Lieutenant Colonel Aldeiy Alderson said:
"I need to show them that the capability that they believe they have is ready for operations, is ready to fight tonight, and is ready to deploy at five days notice around the world."
Also in attendance were a delegation from the Norwegian military, in preparation for the regiment deploying back to Norway next year.

On the exercise was the Royal Marines' 3D printer, understood to be the only deployable system across the UK military.
Colour Sergeant Lee Jones said:
"It seems we are moving more and more into the development and new concept stages, than worrying about boots on the ground.
"We've mastered that and now we're moving into a new range on the battle field."
